About Us

Karisimbi Mining Cooperative is a structure that was created by young people from Masisi in North Kivu. These young people were tired from multiple wars that never helped advance their territory and their community. KMC’s mission is first and foremost to provide an option for the youth of Masisi by offering them the possibility of remunerative work in the mines. Beyond youth, KMC intends to develop the territory of Masisi both by road infrastructure and by a decent lifestyle for all.

____ WHAT WE OFFER

Background

Mindful of this, this youth decided to start artisanal mining of their minerals, as long as it helped to reduce unemployment in the area and develop the infrastructure that is horribly lacking in the area.

Karisimbi Mining Cooperative (KMC) is a leading Congolese diversified mining and minerals cooperative with operations in different provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. KMC mines and beneficiates iron ore, Lithium, Coltan, Cassiterites.

Our business goal as a mining cooperative is to become the number one choice of buyers that are interested in the Congo’s mining. As a business, we are willing to go the extra mile to invest in growing our own environmentally friendly lithium, gold, cassiterites, and, coltan mines and also to hire efficient and dedicated employees

_____ WHAT WE OFFER

WOMEN IN MINING

Women represent an estimated 8 to 17 percent of the global mining workforce. The mining pit is a collaborative working area that has become popular for women. Dump truck driving is a typical role considered suited to women whose steady approach tends to cause less wear and tear on machinery than their male counterparts (this has been proven)
